While this story stands on its own, to better enjoy, read all of the Magical Matthew books. Mea, Matthew and friend Lily who happens to be wheelchair challenged, are changing the world for the good and teaching Mea how to better use her skills.

Enjoyable book for kids. Teaches everyday life skills for children. Illustrations by Kevin Collier are colorful and entertaining.

Magical Mea Goes To School by Penelope Cole, illustrated by Kevin Scott Collier, is the third book in Cole’s Magical series. Mea, the rambunctious little trickster who is unsure of how to best use her magical powers, is now in second grade. She knows she doesn’t want to use her magic to play tricks on people, but her brother Matthew, his friend Lily, and their Grandma Nonie are worried that Mea needs ongoing coaching to help her make good decisions. Mea avoids their magic lessons by overscheduling her calendar, but the trio finally figure out a fun way of getting their point across. Little do they know that Mea is one step ahead of them and is perfectly capable of doing the right thing on her own.
Like the other Magical stories, Magical Mea Goes To School weaves important messages into a fun plot that children will enjoy and relate to. The story explores issues such as "Each of us has unique talents and attributes" and "We can all learn to use our talents responsibly." Kids certainly do not read books to be taught a lesson, but stories like this that convey positive messages along with providing entertainment are true winners! Following her previous Magical Mea and Magical Matthew books about a sister and brother who have magical powers to fix things that are broken, Penelope Cole's new book provides more entertainment and a fun story. Mea has learned that she has the magical ability which her brother Matthew had, and he wants to help her learn how to use it for good and not be seen using it. Mea wants to play and have fun doing other thing, and she doesn't want to make time for Matthew 's lessons. Mea's brother, his friend Lily, and their grandmother realize that Mea has a tendency to play tricks and has been into trouble in the past. They all hope to help her learn to do the right thing. Kevin Collier has provided the vibrant and exciting illustrations which really enhance the characters and this magical story.

Matthew is a 4 year old boy who fixes things, but he accomplishes that in a unique way. He merely thinks them fixed. However, he discovers that he can’t fix people, only things. When he tries to fix his friend Lily’s legs, he discovers that his special magic only works on things. When he tells Lily about his magic, they plan ways they can do good deeds for others.
Penelope Cole tells a wonderful story about friendship, trust and doing kind deeds. She also uses a little rhyming which adds to the cuteness of the story, Children will relate to Matthew’s situation because, well, who doesn’t dream of being a hero as a youngster.
The colorful and lively illustrations by Kevin Scott Collier help convey this delightful story to the reader.

Ten Little Tricksters, by Penelope Anne Cole, is a cleverly bewitching children's picture book. Told in a toe-tapping tempo, while counting from ten to one, children are sure to love this whimsical Halloween themed book. A variety of kooky zombies and ghouls enter the scene one page at a time as they introduce a new number. Ten ghosties, nine goblins and so-on until one little pumpkin collects his Halloween treats.

Colorful and expressive illustrations, by Kevin Collier, are perfectly paired with this book that is likely to become a year-round favorite with youngsters.

Ten Little Tricksters comes highly recommended for home and school libraries.

A good followup to Magical Matthew.
Mea's big brother had magic and used it for good in secret. Mea has magic too and she doesn't want advice from anyone on how to use it. Especially her annoying big brother. Mea uses her ability to cause trouble. She love to make things disappear and watch people hunt for them.
She loves the praise she gets when she "finds" the lost things.How can Matthew and Lily make her stop. Love Kevin Scott Collier's bright colorful illustrations which accompany the text.
This is a nice follow up to Matthew and deals with wild child some of us have. A good companion book to read with "Matthew."

I love stories about a magic power and Matthew has a good one: He can fix things that are broken with a look and a wish.It's easy to keep it a secret because grownups don't believe in magic. But his best friend Lily notices that things work better when Matthew is around. When Matthew decides to tell Lily his secret, she suggests they work together and fix things that need fixing like the dirty beach. One good deed at a time. One day Matthew wakes up and his power is gone. Is their good deed adventure over?
Truly a delightful story. I look forward to reading more by Penelope Cole. This book is also available in Spanish, which I think is great!
